The 2022 World University Championship Futsal remains intense on its second day

The second day of games, July 19th, brought the teams back to the UMinho’s Sports Complex in Gualtar and to the Multiusos de Guimarães.

The men’s teams from Saudi Arabia and Poland faced each other in the first game of the day, again at 10:30 am, at the Gualtar Sports Complex. The match was marked by the number of goals the Polish team scored, who ended up winning by 4-11.

At 12:00 pm, at Multiusos de Guimarães, the Ukraine women’s team played against Brazil. There were only goals from the Brazilian team that scored for the first time at the 5’ minute and then at the 18’, 19’ and 22’ minutes. Brazil left its mark on the game once again. The final score was 0-4.

Starting at 1:25 pm, in Braga, Ukraine’s game against Brazil had the final result of 3-6. The men’s team from Brazil opened the scoring at the 7’ minute. At the 10’ minute, they scored again. Ukraine’s response came at minute 11’. Just 4 minutes later, at the 15’ minute, Brazil scored. Ukraine started the second half motivated and made their score higher at the 22’ minute. However, the Brazilian team scored at the 25’, 26’ and 30’ minutes. The last goal of the match was by Ukraine, at the 33’ minute.

Around 2:00 pm, Oman and Slovakia had their duel in the city of Guimarães. The final result was favorable for the Slovakian men’s team (2-4). It was Oman’s team who scored the first goal of the match, at the 4’ minute. The rest of the game was dominated by the Slovenian national team, who scored at the 5’, 13’ and 22’ minutes. Oman only put the ball back in the opponent’s goal at the 38’ minute. But it was Slovakia who scored in the 40’ minute and won the game.

New Zealand and Argentina faced each other at 3:30 pm. At the 11’ minute, Argentina showed that they came to play and scored the first goal. At the 16’ minute, they did it again. The second half was marked by New Zealand’s first and only goal. The end result was 1-2.

At the women’s games, the Czech Republic and Lebanon disputed the victory. The result of the match was 2-3. The start of the game was troubled with an own goal by the Lebanon national team, at the 3’ minute. However, Lebanon managed to tie the game at the 9’ minute. At the 19’ minute, they scored one more goal. On the second half Czech Republic scored their last goal, at the minute 36. Lebanon ended up the game making a goal on the 36′ minute as well.

At last, the final two matches of the day were played again at 6 pm, simultaneously, in the city of Braga and Guimarães.

The game between the Polish and New Zealand women’s team came to an end with the result of 5-1. In the 5th minute, the Polish team scored the first goal. In the 8th and 16th minute they scored again. Poland entered the second half with force and scored in the 30th minute. New Zealand’s response came in the 32nd minute, thus scoring their only goal of the match. In the 35th minute, the Polish team scored its last goal, thus closing the game.

Portugal and Israel competed against each other and the final result ended up being 5-3, Portugal’s win. The first goal of the match was almost at the end of the first part (minute 18’). The second half of the game was more intense. Israel scored at the minute 23’, 24’ and 28’. Portugal made its goals at the minute 29’, 30’, 35’ and on the last minute of the game (40’).

This Wednesday, July 20th, the competition will continue. The first match is marked for 10:30 am, between the men’s team of Saudi Arabia and Czech Republic at UMinho’s Sports Complex in Gualtar.
